Reassembling Skeleton

{1}{B}

Creature — Skeleton Warrior

LegalRank #755

{1}{B}: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.

1/1

Why is this card good?

Reassembling Skeleton is a humble but reliable engine piece because it's a creature you can sacrifice over and over for just {1}{B}. That repeatable body is exactly what aristocrats and sacrifice decks crave — endless fodder for Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Viscera Seer, or any "sacrifice a creature" outlet. It also shines as recurring fuel for things like Ashnod's Altar (free mana loops), Mortician/Razaketh tutors, persistent attacker payoffs, and edict effects you control. Commanders like Teysa Karlov, Korvold, Meren, and Chatterfang all love a body that refuses to stay dead. The downside: on its own it does almost nothing. It's a 1/1 that returns tapped, so it's terrible at blocking or attacking, and reanimating it costs mana each time, which adds up. If your deck has no sacrifice outlets or death/ETB triggers, it's just a bad creature. Play it when you're building dedicated aristocrats or token-grind shells; skip it in midrange goodstuff decks that just want value bodies.
