Why is this card good?

Spelunking is a quietly excellent ramp piece that doubles as a static enabler. The ETB alone is solid value: it replaces itself by drawing a card, then lets you drop a land for a "free" ramp effect, often netting you mana while smoothing your curve. At three mana, that's already fine. But the real draw is the static ability: all your lands enter untapped. This is huge in decks running lots of tapped lands — fetch-heavy manabases, bounce lands (Karoo lands), Triomes, and especially landfall decks built around Tatyova, Aesi, or Omnath. It turns clunky tapped-land plays into tempo-neutral ones and supercharges land-recursion engines that replay lands repeatedly. Want it in: landfall, lands-matter, green ramp decks with awkward tapped manabases, and any Cave-themed build for the lifegain bonus. Skip it if: your manabase is already mostly untapped basics or fast lands — then you're paying three mana for a one-shot cantrip-ramp, which isn't worth a card slot.

    If a land has an ability that says it enters the battlefield tapped, you choose the order in which that ability's effect and Spelunking's effect apply. This means you can choose to have the land enter tapped or untapped. If a land you control is simply put onto the battlefield tapped without a replacement effect being applied, it always enters untapped if you control Spelunking.

    If Spelunking would enter the battlefield at the same time a land you control would enter the battlefield tapped, that land still enters the battlefield tapped.
