Why is this card good?
Thespian's Stage is a flexible utility land that earns its slot through two main jobs: copying powerful lands and abusing Dark Depths.
The combo: With Dark Depths in play, copy it with the Stage. The copy enters with zero ice counters, and since "if Dark Depths has no ice counters, sacrifice it" triggers immediately, you sacrifice it and get a 20/20 indestructible flying Marit Lage — for two mana, no counters paid. This is a staple in black/green/blue lands and reanimator-adjacent decks like Muldrotha, Tatyova, or any Dark Depths shell.
The fair use: Copy an opponent's Gaea's Cradle, Cabal Coffers, or your own utility/manlands. It's quiet ramp and toolbox flexibility that's hard to interact with.
Who wants it: Lands-matters decks (Lord Windgrace, Aesi), combo decks running Dark Depths, and any deck wanting cheap, repeatable land copying.
When to skip it: If you're not running Dark Depths or strong target lands, it's a colorless land that taps for one mana — too low-impact for tight, aggressive lists.
