The Commander

Grandeur — Discard another card named Page, Loose Leaf: Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal an instant or sorcery card. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

Guide

Gameplan

Page, Loose Leaf is a 2-mana colorless mana dork that ramps into big colorless threats, primarily Eldrazi. Tap it for mana early, deploy mana rocks, and snowball into expensive titans and Ugin planeswalkers that take over the board. The Grandeur ability is a niche dig tool that only comes online if you make extra copies of Page, so the deck mostly leans on raw colorless ramp and overwhelming top-end.

Strengths

  • Cheap, repeatable mana acceleration in the command zone that's always available
  • Colorless identity sidesteps color-screw and enables a clean Eldrazi/artifact ramp shell
  • Resilient threats like Eldrazi titans and Ugin generate huge value even when answered
  • Hard to interact with via color-hosed effects since everything is colorless

Weaknesses

  • Colorless card pool is shallow, so interaction, card draw, and removal options are limited
  • Grandeur is nearly dead in singleton unless you actively manufacture copies of Page
  • No access to counterspells, tutors, or efficient colored removal
  • Vulnerable to artifact removal and creature wipes that strip your mana base
  • Low ceiling on power level compared to colored ramp commanders

Key Cards

  • Sol Ring — Premier colorless rock that turbocharges your ramp alongside Page into early titans.
  • Ugin, the Spirit Dragon — Top-end colorless planeswalker that wipes opposing boards and ends games as a removal-plus-value engine.
  • Kozilek, Butcher of Truth — Refills your hand on cast and provides a recurring colorless beater that punishes graveyard hate.
  • Sculpting Steel — Copies Page (or any artifact) so you can actually fuel Grandeur and double up on mana.
  • Everflowing Chalice — Scalable colorless ramp that uses your Page mana to multiply into explosive turns.
  • All Is Dust — One of the few colorless board wipes that leaves your colorless permanents largely intact.

Upgrade Path

Lean into fast colorless ramp with Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Grim Monolith, and the Eldrazi Temple-style lands to deploy titans turns ahead of schedule. Add copy effects like Mirror of the Forebears and Prototype Portal to make Page tokens and unlock Grandeur as repeatable card selection. Round out the limited colorless toolbox with Karn Liberated, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, and Wurmcoil Engine, and protect your engine with Lightning Greaves and artifact-friendly board wipes like Scour from Existence.

  • Artifacts — As a Construct, Page slots into colorless artifact synergies and mana-rock chains.
  • Big Mana / Stompy — Repeatable colorless mana lets you cast oversized threats and dominate combat.
