Gameplan

Pair Rose with a Doctor partner and treat the command zone as a card-advantage engine: every time you cast that Doctor (or any doctor's-companion creature) you draw a card. You play a tempo/value blue shell around your chosen Doctor's theme, protecting Rose with Ward 2 while leaning on your partner's identity to actually win.

Strengths

  • Built-in repeatable card draw whenever you recast your Doctor commander from the command zone
  • Ward {2} makes her sticky and hard to pick off with single-target removal
  • Doctor's companion gives you two commanders, expanding strategy and color identity flexibility
  • Mono-blue access to counters, bounce, and protection to defend the engine

Weaknesses

  • Does almost nothing on her own without a Doctor partner to enable the draw trigger
  • Restricted to mono-U on her own, so the deck's power lives in whichever Doctor you pick
  • Commander tax makes repeatedly casting your Doctor expensive over a long game
  • No inherent way to win—she's purely value, relying on the partner and supporting cards
  • Vulnerable to graveyard/exile hate and board wipes that strip your enablers

  • Rhystic Study — Stacks even more card advantage on top of Rose's draws to bury opponents in resources.
  • Swiftfoot Boots — Adds haste and shroud so your Doctor partner sticks and connects each turn.

Upgrade Path

Pick a Doctor partner with its own win condition and counters synergy, then add fast mana (Sol Ring, Mana Crest) and protection (Heroic Intervention-style blue answers, Mother of Runes is off-color but counterspells fit) to keep the engine online. Lean into proliferate and recast loops, and add hard counterspells plus Cyclonic Rift and a tutor like Mystical Tutor to assemble whatever finisher your Doctor enables.
