BuildCard details

The Commander

Delve (Each card you exile from your graveyard while casting this spell pays for {1}.)

{2}{G/U}{G/U}: Mill two cards, then return a nonland card of an opponent's choice from your graveyard to your hand.

Guide

Gameplan

Cast Tasigur cheaply via Delve as early as turn 2-3, then grind value with his activated ability to recur your best spells from a stocked graveyard. You self-mill and use cheap interaction to control the board while assembling a combo or attrition engine that buries opponents in card advantage.

Strengths

  • Extremely cheap commander thanks to Delve, freeing mana for interaction and threats
  • Sultai color identity gives access to the best removal, ramp, and tutors in the format
  • Self-mill fuels both Delve and graveyard recursion synergies
  • Repeatable card advantage engine that opponents can't easily deny long-term

Weaknesses

  • Graveyard hate (Rest in Peace, Bojuka Bog) cripples both Delve and his ability
  • His ability lets opponents choose which card returns, so it's value but not selective
  • No evasion or protection built in; dies to spot removal easily
  • Self-mill can deck you out or hand combo pieces to graveyard-matters opponents

Key Cards

  • Hermit Druid — Mills your library to fuel Delve and combo lines while ramping.
  • Thassa's Oracle — Premier wincon after emptying your library via self-mill.
  • Cyclonic Rift — The format's best blue reset, recurrable and devastating in a control shell.
  • Demonic Tutor — Finds combo pieces or answers, essential to a tutor-heavy Sultai build.
  • Mystic Remora — Cheap, repeatable card advantage that snowballs early-game control.

Upgrade Path

Add fast mana (Mana Crypt, Mox Diamond) and premium tutors (Vampiric Tutor, Mystical Tutor) to assemble combos faster. Lean into a compact Hermit Druid / Thassa's Oracle kill backed by counterspells and cheap interaction, and add fetchlands plus self-mill to consistently turn Tasigur on by turn two.
