Why is this card good?

Cloudshift is one mana of pure flexibility, and in the right deck it's a powerhouse. The core appeal: blink a creature with an enters-the-battlefield trigger to double its value for a single white pip. In blink/flicker decks (Roon, Brago, Aminatou, Eluge), it's a slam dunk — reuse Mulldrifter, Solemn Simulacrum, Reflector Mage, or whatever value engine you're running. It also doubles as a cheap protection spell: respond to targeted removal or a board wipe (with an instant like this you can dodge "destroy" but it returns to the battlefield, so it survives single-target exile/destroy effects), and it removes auras or counters from your blocker. The catch: the creature returns as a new object, so it loses commander tax tricks only matter on the stack, and it comes back tapped-out of combat and summoning sick. Don't play it in decks without ETB payloads or protection needs — it's a dead card in a creatures-as-stats deck. It's a build-around enabler, not a generically good card.
