Gameplan
Nemata turns every opponent's dying creature into a Saproling for you, building a token army from across the table while denying graveyard fuel. You sacrifice those Saprolings for card draw or to pump Nemata, and lean on the wider Saproling/fungus theme to go wide and convert tokens into damage or value.
Strengths
- Generates tokens off opponents' deaths, including their own removal and combat
- Built-in card draw engine and a graveyard-hate angle via exile
- Reach plus a pump ability makes Nemata a real combat threat and blocker
- Synergizes with the deep Saproling/sacrifice support in BG
Weaknesses
- Token generation depends on opponents' creatures dying, which can be inconsistent in slow pods
- Goes wide, so vulnerable to board wipes and sweepers
- No evasion built in beyond Reach for itself; needs help pushing damage
- Mana-hungry sac abilities can be slow without ramp and a token base

Upgrade Path
Add efficient sac outlets and payoffs (Ashnod's Altar, Pitiless Plunderer, Zulaport Cutthroat) plus token doublers like Doubling Season and Parallel Lives to explode your board. Improve mana with green ramp (Cultivate, Three Visits) so the sac abilities aren't a bottleneck, and finish faster with Craterhoof Behemoth or Skullclamp-driven card advantage. Tune the removal suite toward sacrifice-based and edict effects to maximize Nemata's exile trigger.
