Why is this card good?
Gamble is red's premier tutor, and one of the few unconditional ones in the color. For a single mana, it fetches any card to hand — combo pieces, answers, a missing land. That efficiency is why it's a Game Changer despite the downside.
The catch: you discard a random card afterward. If your hand is empty when you cast it (the card you tutored is your only card), there's no real downside — you keep what you searched for. That's the optimal line, so it shines in low-to-empty-hand turns or when you can recur the discarded card.
Wants it: combo decks (Krenko, Godo, Kiki lines), red Storm, and any deck running cards like Underworld Breach or Dramatic Reversal that needs to assemble pieces fast. Graveyard-friendly shells care even less about the discard.
Skip it in grindy, hand-flooding decks where the random discard regularly hits something you needed, or if you have no recursion to mitigate the loss.
