Why is this card good?
Shadowblood Ridge is a "filter land" — and despite the awkward extra to activate, it's one of the better fixers for Rakdos decks.
The key strength is flexibility: it turns any single mana into . Off a colorless source like Sol Ring, Wastes, or another utility land, it effectively fixes you into both your colors at once. This is huge for double-pipped costs and for splashing reliably, which is why filter lands shine more than basics in demanding manabases.
Who wants it: any two-color Rakdos deck, but especially aristocrats, spellslinger, or reanimator builds that run heavy or requirements and lean on artifact ramp. The more colorless mana your deck produces, the better this performs.
When to skip it: it enters untapped but can't produce mana by itself, and the activation tax matters on turn-one plays. If your curve is low and aggressive, or you already have plenty of dual lands, a Blood Crypt-style untapped dual or even a basic is smoother.
