Why is this card good?
Sram, Senior Edificer is mono-white's best card-draw engine in the right shell — and white desperately needs that.
As a commander, Sram is the premier face of Voltron decks, especially Auras and Equipment builds. Cast a Cartouche, a Sword, or an Ethereal Armor and replace it immediately. This keeps you from running out of gas while you stack buffs onto one creature, which is the classic problem with Voltron strategies. He's also fantastic in the 99 of any Equipment-heavy deck (Akiri, Wyleth, Halvar, Sram himself).
The catch: at he dies to everything, so expect to recast him and protect him with hexproof/shroud effects. He only triggers on spells, not Auras that re-attach — so reanimating or moving Auras won't draw.
Don't play him outside dedicated Aura/Equipment/Vehicle decks. With fewer than ~12-15 relevant permanents he does nothing, and Vehicles alone rarely justify the slot. Build around him and he's an absurd value engine; jam him randomly and he's a 2/2 vanilla.
