BuildCard details

The Commander

Whenever you cast an Aura, Equipment, or Vehicle spell, draw a card.

Guide

Gameplan

Sram turns every Aura, Equipment, and Vehicle into a cantrip, so you flood the board with cheap permanents while refilling your hand. Suit up a single creature (usually Sram or a hexproof threat) and beat down with Voltron, drawing cards along the way to never run out of gas. The deck snowballs: low-cost equipment and auras chain together into explosive draw-fueled turns.

Strengths

  • Exceptional card advantage in mono-white, which historically struggles to draw cards
  • Cheap two-mana commander that contributes to the engine immediately
  • Resilient: you can rebuild a board state quickly thanks to constant card flow
  • Flexible win paths via Voltron beatdown or going wide

Weaknesses

  • Heavily reliant on Sram being on the battlefield; commander removal stalls the engine
  • Vulnerable to creature removal and board wipes if all-in on one Voltron threat
  • Mono-white lacks strong interaction, ramp, and combo finishers
  • Auras create card disadvantage if the enchanted creature is killed (despite Sram's draw)

Key Cards

  • Puresteel Paladin — With three or more artifacts it lets you play Equipment for free, drawing a card each time off Sram for an explosive chain.
  • Sigarda's Aid — Flash in Auras and equip for free, protecting your creature and triggering Sram at instant speed.
  • Danitha Capashen, Paragon — Cheap, evasive, and reduces the cost of Auras and Equipment, making her an ideal Voltron carrier.
  • Ancestral Mask — An aura that grants a massive buff scaling with your enchantment-heavy board, enabling one-shot commander kills.
  • Open the Armory — Tutors for your best Equipment or Aura to assemble your gameplan consistently.
  • Colossus Hammer — A one-mana equipment giving +10/+10 that, with cheap equip enablers, threatens lethal commander damage fast.

Upgrade Path

Add protection like Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves, and Sigarda's Aid to keep your carrier alive, plus cost reducers (Puresteel Paladin, Sram-friendly enablers) to chain free spells. Improve ramp and consistency with Sol Ring, Smothering Tithe, and tutors like Stoneforge Mystic and Steelshaper's Gift. Lean into a compact two-card combo such as Colossus Hammer + free-equip enablers for fast, reliable kills.

  • Enchantress (Auras) — Sram acts as a white Auras-matter draw engine alongside cost reducers and buffs.
