Gameplan

Hoard a fat hand so Duggan is a giant, then beat down while investigating for Clues every attack. Use 'The Most Important Punch' as repeatable removal that scales with your hand size (twice power), and convert excess cards into ramp, draw, and artifact synergies. You win by attacking with a hand-sized monster backed by card advantage and protection.

Strengths

  • Free, recurring card advantage via Investigate on enter and every attack
  • Built-in scalable removal that can one-shot most creatures when your hand is full
  • Naturally huge body in a Simic shell that loves big hands and card draw
  • Clue tokens feed artifact synergies, sacrifice payoffs, and extra fuel

  • Power/toughness craters when you're forced to dump or discard your hand
  • Vulnerable to spot removal and bounce since the deck leans on the commander
  • No evasion built in—Duggan can be chump-blocked all day without help

Prioritize ways to keep your hand large and uncapped—Reliquary Tower, Thought Vessel, Spellbook, and top-of-library card advantage like The Reality Chip—so Duggan stays massive. Add cheap protection (Heroic Intervention, Swiftfoot Boots) and evasion (Rogue's Passage, trample) to ensure he actually connects, and lean into Clue/token doublers like Academy Manufactor and Tireless Provisioner to turn investigate into real ramp. For higher power, include extra-combat or extra-turn effects to multiply attack triggers and tutors to assemble your engine faster.
