The Commander

Whenever players finish voting, each opponent who voted for a choice you voted for creates a Treasure token. You scry X, where X is the number of opponents who voted for a choice you didn't vote for. Draw a card.

Gameplan

Erestor turns every voting card into a card-advantage engine: you draw a card whenever players finish voting, scry based on opponents who diverge from you, and reward those who agree with you with Treasure (which you can leverage with your own bribery/politics). Stuff the deck with vote cards, untap to re-trigger via blink or repeatable votes, and grind a steady advantage while keeping the table happy until your value engine snowballs.

Strengths

  • Guaranteed card draw plus scry on every vote, an extremely consistent advantage engine
  • Politically flexible — you choose who benefits, making deals and deterring attacks easy
  • Treasure generation ramps you toward big payoffs and fixes a two-color manabase
  • Cheap 3-mana body lets you deploy it early and rebuild quickly after removal

Weaknesses

  • Heavily reliant on a finite pool of vote cards in the format; without them Erestor is a vanilla creature
  • No built-in win condition — you must supply the finisher
  • Giving opponents Treasure can accelerate their game plans too
  • Vulnerable to creature removal and being ignored if you have no votes queued

Key Cards

  • Council's Judgment — A vote-based removal spell that triggers Erestor while cleanly exiling any problem permanent.
  • Expropriate — The premier voting payoff — extra turns or stealing permanents, and it pumps Erestor's draw/scry/Treasure.
  • Capital Punishment — Flexible vote removal that triggers Erestor and lets you bend the outcome politically.
  • Coastal Piracy — Stacks more card draw on top of Erestor's value-oriented blue-green shell.
  • Brago, King Eternal — Blinking enchantment/permanent votes or re-casting vote ETBs multiplies Erestor triggers.
  • Cyclonic Rift — Blue's premier reset that protects your lead and clears the board for a finish.

Upgrade Path

Maximize the density of voting cards (Council's Judgment, Capital Punishment, Coastal Piracy, Tyrant's Choice, Plea for Power, Expropriate) so Erestor triggers reliably, and add blink enablers like Brago and Ghostly Flicker to double up ETB votes. Lean into Treasure synergies and fast ramp (Sol Ring, signets, Cultivate) to convert your card lead into a decisive turn, then include a compact win such as Thassa's Oracle/Laboratory Maniac with Tamiyo's Safekeeping draw, or a reusable extra-turn loop. Tighten interaction with counterspells and Cyclonic Rift to protect your engine.
