: Prevent the next 2 damage that would be dealt to target creature this turn.
Kei Takahashi is a low-impact damage-prevention engine, so decks built around him lean on his white-green identity rather than his ability. You play a fair midrange or aristocrats/lifegain game, develop a board, and grind to victory while occasionally using Kei to fog a single creature or save an attacker. The commander is mostly a color-identity enabler, so the deck does the heavy lifting.
Since the commander adds little, invest in your strategy's payoffs and GW's weak spots: add card advantage (Esper Sentinel, Smothering Tithe, Sylvan Library) and fast ramp (Smothering Tithe, Birds of Paradise, Three Visits). Slot in a tight combo like Heliod + Walking Ballista so you have a real win condition, and round out with efficient interaction (Swords to Plowshares, Generous Gift, Heroic Intervention) to protect the engine.
