The Commander

{X}, {T}: Search your library for a Rebel permanent card with mana value X or less, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle.

{3}: Put target Rebel card from your graveyard on the bottom of your library.

Guide

Gameplan

Lin Sivvi turns your search ability into an engine: pay X, tap, and fetch any Rebel permanent of MV X or less straight onto the battlefield, climbing the Rebel "chain" to assemble a toolbox of creatures every turn. You grind out value, recur key Rebels from the yard, and build a wide white army that closes with combat or assembled hatebears/lock pieces. As mono-white tribal, you lean on token-style swarm plus equipment/anthems to push damage.

Strengths

  • Repeatable, instant-speed-ish toolbox tutoring that finds an answer or threat every turn for cheap
  • Built-in recursion of Rebel cards keeps the engine resilient to removal
  • Mono-white consistency and access to strong stax/hatebear Rebels
  • Can tutor silver-bullet creatures (interaction, lifegain, ramp pieces) to adapt to any matchup

Weaknesses

  • Slow without Lin Sivvi on the battlefield—she's the whole engine, so commander removal hurts badly
  • Mono-white means weak card draw and ramp relative to other colors
  • The Rebel chain is mostly small, low-impact bodies that fold to board wipes
  • Vulnerable to graveyard hate and Stifle/tap effects shutting off her activated ability

Key Cards

  • Ramosian Sergeant — Cheap one-drop starter that begins the chain and fetches the next Rebel link without needing Lin Sivvi.
  • Defiant Vanguard — A Rebel-fetcher and a sacrifice-trigger toolbox that searches at end of combat for added value.
  • Lieutenant Kirtar — A powerful Rebel you can tutor up that tucks attackers, providing premium removal on a creature.
  • Cataclysm — Mono-white reset that you rebuild from instantly thanks to Lin Sivvi's recurring tutor engine.
  • Skullclamp — Solves white's card-draw problem by sacrificing small chained Rebels for two cards each.
  • Eldrazi Monument — Anthem plus indestructibility that protects your wide Rebel board from wraths and turns it lethal.

Upgrade Path

Add fast mana and rocks (Sol Ring, Mana Crest pieces, Smothering Tithe) so you can activate her multiple times a turn and accelerate into the chain. Improve card advantage and protection with Skullclamp, Swords to Plowshares, Generous Gift, and ways to untap her like Thousand-Year Elixir or Aphetto Alchemist for double tutors. Top-end the toolbox with high-impact white bombs and a clean combo or Cataclysm-style reset to convert the grind into a real win.

Core Cards

Win Conditions

  • ▸Going wide with a buffed Rebel army and swinging through with anthems like Eldrazi Monument
  • ▸Voltron commander damage by loading equipment onto a resilient body
  • ▸Assembling a soft lock with tutored stax pieces and grinding opponents out
  • ▸Tutoring repeatable value/hatebears until the table can't function, then closing with combat

Archetypes

  • Tribal Toolbox — Her tutor lets you assemble exactly the Rebel you need each turn, from threats to silver bullets.
  • Tokens/Go-Wide — Mono-white can flood the board with Rebels and small creatures, then pump them with anthems.
  • Stax/Hatebear — Tutor up disruptive white creatures and lean on Cataclysm-style resets you recover from quickly.
  • Voltron/Equipment — Lin Sivvi or a key Rebel can carry equipment while the engine grinds value behind it.
