BuildCard details

The Commander

Haste

Whenever Squee attacks, create a 1/1 red Goblin creature token that's tapped and attacking.

You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying {3}{R} and exiling four other cards from your graveyard rather than paying its mana cost.

Guide

Gameplan

Squee is a relentless mono-red aggro commander that pumps out Goblin tokens every time he attacks, then keeps coming back from the graveyard for {3}{R}. Curve out aggressive threats, swing wide with Squee making a tapped attacking Goblin each combat, and overwhelm the table with token-based aggression and recursive value. Late game, convert your board into damage with anthems, Goblin payoffs, or a big finisher.

Strengths

  • Extremely resilient commander—recurs from the graveyard so it dodges most removal and shrugs off board wipes
  • Generates free attacking bodies every combat, snowballing a wide board with zero card investment
  • Self-mill from the recast cost feeds graveyard synergies and digs you deeper
  • Cheap, hasty, and immediately impactful the turn it lands
  • Strong Goblin tribal payoffs in mono-red give it a deep card pool

Weaknesses

  • Mono-red with no card draw fundamentals can run out of gas if the board stalls
  • Squee's recast cost exiles four cards, draining your own graveyard resources fast
  • Vulnerable to board wipes and edicts that punish a wide go-wide plan (though Squee himself recurs)
  • Tokens are individually fragile and dunked on by any sweeper or fog
  • Little interaction with combo or noncreature strategies—can be outraced or stalled by Stax

Key Cards

  • Krenko, Mob Boss — Turns your growing Goblin board into an explosive token engine that doubles your army each tap.
  • Skullclamp — Solves mono-red's card draw problem by sacrificing 1/1 Goblins for two cards apiece.
  • Purphoros, God of the Forge — Each Goblin token entering deals 2 to all opponents, turning Squee's attacks into a damage machine.
  • Goblin Bombardment — Provides a free sacrifice outlet to convert tokens into reach and finish off opponents.
  • Impact Tremors — Cheap damage payoff that pings opponents for every Goblin Squee and friends create.
  • Coat of Arms — Pumps your entire Goblin swarm into a lethal alpha strike.

Upgrade Path

Tighten the curve with cheap Goblin lords and ETB-damage enablers (Purphoros, Impact Tremors, Hordeling Outburst) and add card advantage engines like Skullclamp, Mind's Eye, and Outpost Siege to fight mono-red's flood-out problem. Add free sacrifice outlets (Goblin Bombardment, Ashnod's Altar) plus Krenko, Mob Boss and Coat of Arms for explosive finishes, and consider Goblin Recruiter/Conspicuous Snoop combo lines for a higher-power build. Ramp with Treasure makers and fast mana (Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Goblin tutors) to deploy threats ahead of the curve.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Swarming the board with Goblins and alpha-striking through an anthem like Coat of Arms or Shared Animosity
  • ▸Burst damage from token-ETB payoffs like Purphoros and Impact Tremors
  • ▸Krenko-fueled token explosions converted to damage via Goblin Bombardment or Fling effects
  • ▸Grinding incremental aggro damage with a recursive, hard-to-remove commander

Archetypes

  • Goblin Tribal — Squee constantly adds Goblins to the board, fueling lords and tribal payoffs like Krenko and Goblin Chieftain.
  • Tokens / Go-Wide Aggro — Free attacking tokens each combat build an army that anthems and overruns close games.
  • Aristocrats — His expendable tokens and recursive body feed sacrifice outlets like Goblin Bombardment and Mayhem Devil.
  • Spellslinger Aggro — Mono-red's burn and cost reducers can pair Squee's pressure with reach-based finishers.
