BuildCard details

The Commander

Flying

Whenever Intet deals combat damage to a player, you may pay {2}{U}. If you do, exile the top card of your library face down. You may look at that card for as long as it remains exiled. You may play that card without paying its mana cost for as long as Intet remains on the battlefield.

Guide

Gameplan

Intet is a Temur Voltron/midrange dragon who turns combat damage into free spells. Connect with Intet's evading flier, pay {2}{U} to exile the top card and cast it for free as long as Intet sticks. Suit up your dragon with protection and evasion buffs, then snowball card and mana advantage into big payoffs while leaning on Temur's ramp and dragon synergies.

Strengths

  • Built-in evasion (flying) makes connecting easy and unlocks free spells repeatedly
  • Temur (GRU) gives access to ramp, card draw, and the best creatures/spells in those colors
  • Free casting bypasses big mana costs, letting you slam bombs you exile
  • Strong dragon-tribal support to make the deck more resilient and explosive

Weaknesses

  • Card advantage and free spells stop the moment Intet leaves the battlefield, so removal-heavy tables punish you
  • The {2}{U} tax means you must hold mana up every combat to capitalize
  • Free spell is a single random card off the top — variance and no selection unless you set it up
  • Six-mana commander is slow to deploy and a removal magnet once it starts swinging
  • No native trample or protection, so a single blocker shuts the trigger off

Key Cards

  • Rogue's Passage — Guarantees Intet connects for the trigger through any board state.
  • Whispersilk Cloak — Grants unblockable and shroud, ensuring damage and protecting your engine piece.
  • Sol Ring — Fast mana that helps you cast a six-drop early and keep {2}{U} available each turn.
  • Sneak Attack — Cheats out fatties and synergizes with a deck full of expensive dragons and bombs.
  • Sylvan Library — Top-deck manipulation stacks your library so Intet's exile hits exactly what you want.
  • Temur Ascendancy — Draws cards off your dragons and gives them haste, accelerating your beatdown plan.
  • Dragonlord's Servant — Cost reducer that makes your dragon-heavy curve far easier to deploy.

Upgrade Path

Tighten the curve and add fast mana (Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, signets) so you can land Intet and keep {2}{U} open the same turn. Add evasion/protection enablers (Lightning Greaves, Shizo, Aqueous Form) and top-deck control like Brainstorm and Scroll Rack to guarantee strong free casts. For higher power, lean on cheat-to-play effects (Sneak Attack, Through the Breach) and efficient interaction to protect your commander against removal-heavy pods.

Core Cards

Win Conditions

  • ▸Voltron beatdown with a buffed, evasive Intet plus extra-combat or pump effects
  • ▸Casting free haymakers (planeswalkers, bombs, big dragons) off the trigger to overwhelm the table
  • ▸Dragon tribal swarm closing out the air
  • ▸Cheated-out finishers like Craterhoof Behemoth or a big X-spell for lethal

Archetypes

  • Voltron — Intet rewards getting in for combat damage, so suiting it up with evasion and protection turns each hit into free value.
  • Dragon Tribal — GRU dragons line up with Intet's creature type for cost reducers, anthems, and tribal payoffs.
  • Big Mana Midrange — Free spell casting and Temur ramp let you reliably cheat out and cast expensive bombs.
  • Spellslinger/Value — Top-of-library tutoring and card advantage support a value-engine playstyle built around free casts.
