At the beginning of your upkeep, exile two cards from your graveyard. If you can't, sacrifice Egon and draw a card.
At the beginning of your upkeep, mill a card.
,
, Exile a creature card from your graveyard: Draw a card.
Egon is a cheap, self-mill mono-black engine that grinds opponents out with card advantage. You mill yourself aggressively, fuel a graveyard, and turn that yard into cards via the Throne side while keeping Egon alive by always having two cards to exile each upkeep. You win through value, reanimation, and grindy attrition rather than fast combos.
Add fast mana (Dark Ritual, Jet Medallion) and tutors (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor) to assemble engines faster, plus reanimation density to turn milled bombs into threats. Lean into a compact combo kill—Mikaeus/Triskelion or Bolas's Citadel lines—so you aren't purely grinding. Round out interaction with cheap removal and graveyard hate of your own to protect the engine.
