Whenever you cast your first instant spell each turn, if Kalamax is tapped, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Whenever you copy an instant spell, put a +1/+1 counter on Kalamax.
Kalamax is a Temur spellslinger deck that wants to keep its commander tapped (via combat or other means) so your first instant each turn gets copied for free. You generate massive card and mana advantage doubling cantrips, removal, and counterspells, snowballing Kalamax into a huge threat while burying the table in value. Win by chaining copies into a lethal storm, a big copied X-spell, or commander damage.
Add reliable untap enablers (Seedborn Muse, Wilderness Reclamation, Bear Umbra) and copy-spell engines (Reverberate, Twincast, Expansion) to chain triggers. Tighten the mana with fast rocks and fixing (Arcane Signet, fetch/dual lands) and add protection like Heroic Intervention and Lightning Greaves so Kalamax survives. To push toward cEDH, build a dedicated infinite-copy combo line and add efficient tutors to assemble it.
