Why is this card good?

Temple of Triumph is a quietly excellent dual land for any Boros (or RW-inclusive) deck. The scry 1 on entry smooths your draws and helps set up your next turn, which adds up over the course of a long Commander game more than people give it credit for. The downside is entering tapped — that's a real tempo cost, but in a 40-life, slower format, it rarely matters. You're trading one turn of speed for consistent fixing and a free filter. Who wants it: Almost every two- or three-color deck containing red and white — Boros aggro, equipment/voltron commanders like Wyleth or Bruse Tarl, Aurelia tokens, or any RW slice of a Mardu/Jeskai/Naya manabase. When to skip it: Fast, aggressive decks that need untapped lands every turn (high-power cEDH or hyper-aggressive Boros), where tap-lands clog your curve. If your budget allows shocks, fast lands, or true duals, prioritize those for speed — Temple is a strong budget-to-mid filler, not a top-tier dual.

When you scry, you may put all the cards you look at back on top of your library, you may put all of those cards on the bottom of your library, or you may put some of those cards on top and the rest of them on the bottom.

  • 2013-09-15

You choose how to order cards returned to your library after scrying no matter where you put them.

  • 2013-09-15

You perform the actions stated on a card in sequence. For some spells and abilities, that means you'll scry last. For others, that means you'll scry and then perform other actions.

  • 2013-09-15

Scry appears on some spells and abilities with one or more targets. If all of the spell or ability's targets are illegal when it tries to resolve, it won't resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won't scry.
