Trample
Cumulative upkeep—Pay 1 life. (At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent, then sacrifice it unless you pay its upkeep cost for each age counter on it.)
Drop Gallowbraid early as a cheap 7/7 trampler and beat down fast while the cumulative upkeep life cost is still small. The deck is a mono-black aggressive Voltron/midrange shell that converts your high life total and pile of lifegain into damage before the escalating upkeep buries you. You either win quickly or build engines to offset and ignore the life payments.
Add fast mana and untap effects (Sol Ring, Sword of Feast and Famine, lands like Cabal Coffers/Nykthos) so paying cumulative upkeep is trivial, and lean into lifegain (Whip of Erebos, Vito) to flip the downside into an Aetherflux kill. Prioritize protection (Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Imp's Mischief) and recursion (Phyrexian Reclamation) so removal doesn't end your game, and tighten the curve to win before turn 8 when upkeep gets brutal.
