Gameplan

Raff lets you hold up mana and deploy your most impactful permanents—artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas—at instant speed, turning your whole board into a reactive flash deck. You play draw-go control, baiting opponents into committing, then flash in blockers, value engines, or game-ending bombs on their end step. Win by grinding incremental advantage with legendary creatures and artifacts before closing with a finisher or a flashed-in combo.

Strengths

  • Instant-speed deployment dodges sorcery-speed removal and lets you react to the table
  • Excellent in artifact- and legendary-heavy builds, which UW supports deeply
  • Flash + flying makes Raff a slippery, hard-to-pin-down commander

Tighten interaction with counterspells (Fierce Guardianship, Swan Song) and tuck removal, and consider a compact artifact combo finish (Urza, Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek). Cut vanilla creatures for legendaries and artifacts so Raff's ability is always live.
