Rankle is a mono-black aggro-tempo commander that wants to connect early thanks to flying and haste, then abuse its triggered modes to grind everyone out of resources. You apply pressure, discard their hands, force sacrifices, and refill yourself while symmetrically punishing opponents who can't capitalize. The deck wins by leveraging asymmetric payoffs—aristocrats, hand attack, and reanimation—until you out-resource the table.
Add fast mana (Dark Ritual, Mana Vault, Jet Medallion) to deploy Rankle ahead of curve and protect him with cheap interaction like Imp's Mischief and Malakir Rebirth. Lean into asymmetry with one-sided payoffs (Sheoldred, Bolas's Citadel, Bontu's Last Reckoning) so symmetrical modes only hurt opponents. Tighten the curve and add efficient tutors (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Grim Tutor) plus recursion to ensure Rankle stays a recurring threat.
