Gameplan
Attack with Varragoth, then Boast to tutor any card to the top of your library each turn, turning a 5/4 deathtouch beater into a repeatable Vampiric Tutor on a stick. You leverage that consistency to assemble a combo, a voltron kill, or simply stack your draws toward bombs and removal while grinding the board.
Strengths
- Repeatable, color-flexible tutoring every combat for whatever the situation needs
- Cheap 3-mana body with deathtouch makes it a real threat and great blocker
- Mono-black gives access to elite tutors, removal, ramp, and recursion
