Game Trail

Land

LegalRank #367

As this land enters, you may reveal a Mountain or Forest card from your hand. If you don't, this land enters tapped.

{T}: Add {R} or {G}.

Why is this card good?

Game Trail is a Gruul "reveal" dual land, and it's a solid inclusion in any two-color RG deck or as part of a larger fixing package. The upside is straightforward: if you have a basic Mountain or Forest (or any card with those types) in hand, it comes in untapped, which is exactly what aggressive Gruul decks want when curving out turns 1-3. The catch is consistency. In greedy multicolor decks, you'll often have no basic to reveal in the late game, leaving it as a tapland — slower than a fetchable dual or a Triome that cycles. It also doesn't fetch, doesn't gain life, and doesn't fix beyond two colors. Play it in dedicated GR aggro, stompy, or tokens decks that run plenty of basics. Skip it in three-plus color decks where untapped fixing is at a premium, or in slower ramp builds where entering tapped barely matters and you'd rather run a Triome or check land.
