The Commander

Creature tokens you control have haste.

Parley — At the beginning of combat on your turn, each player reveals the top card of their library. For each land card revealed this way, you create a 1/1 green and white Citizen creature token. Then creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn for each nonland card revealed this way. Then each player draws a card.

Gameplan

Phabine turns every combat into a value engine: at the start of combat you trigger Parley, making Citizen tokens off revealed lands and pumping your whole board off revealed nonlands, then everyone draws. You flood the board with hasty tokens and swing wide with an ever-growing anthem, snowballing the game until an alpha strike or a payoff finishes the table. The catch is you're filling everyone's hand and board, so you must close fast.

  • Granting all your tokens haste turns mass token-makers into immediate damage
  • Card advantage for you every turn keeps gas flowing into the late game
  • Naya colors access the best anthems, token doublers, and go-wide payoffs

Weaknesses

  • Parley draws cards for EVERY opponent, accelerating their game plans too
  • Six mana and no immediate impact makes Phabine a slow, removal-prone engine
  • Vulnerable to board wipes that erase your token army in one card
  • Symmetric draw can hand opponents answers, ramp, or combo pieces

Key Cards

  • Cathars' Crusade — Every token Phabine makes triggers it, stacking permanent counters across your whole board.
  • Craterhoof Behemoth — With hasty tokens already attacking, it converts a wide board into a one-shot kill.
  • Anointed Procession — Doubles the Citizens from Parley and every other token maker, snowballing your army.
  • Impact Tremors — Punishes opponents for the symmetric draw by pinging them as your hasty tokens enter.
  • Smothering Tithe — Turns the extra cards everyone draws into a flood of Treasure for explosive turns.
  • Beastmaster Ascension — With a wide token board it quickly online, granting +5/+5 for a lethal swing.

Upgrade Path

Add token doublers (Anointed Procession, Parallel Lives) and explosive finishers (Craterhoof Behemoth, Triumph of the Hordes) so a single big combat ends the game before symmetric draw helps opponents. Lower your curve and add ramp like Smothering Tithe and Esika's Chariot to deploy Phabine and a board faster, and include protection such as Heroic Intervention against the wipes that punish go-wide. Punisher pieces like Impact Tremors and Authority of the Consuls turn the shared card draw and your token flood into inevitable damage.
